Masterstepz is undoubtedly one of the most pioneering DJ's of UK Garage. With his much coveted residency at Smoove, Ministry of Sound which he has achieved due to his dedication to the genre and his incredible capacity for getting a crowd frenzied and in a state of irate appreciation with his raw cutting and hype mixing technique.
He also mixed the compilation REAL GARAGE/ AYIA NAPA in 2001 on the Ministry of Sound label.
This is backed by his daily show at Choice FM where he is ambassador of youth urban music, Urban music being his area of expertise with a smattering of Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae thrown in to keep it original.
His history is exceptional and his portfolio is a journey through radio, club nights, studios & a huge number of countries where he has gained unlimited experience and expertise of what we call the 'urban music' phenomenon today.
He started out at the age of 16 playing in Clubs like Le Bells, Oasis and Bel Air, he was also part of a Sound System called King Tubbys who were based in Brixton, South London. From there he went on to presenting on a South London Pirate Station called Lightning FM. A music course saw his step into music production, combining his skill of mixing records on turntables with providing the tracks to be mixed.
His show that is aired daily includes the full urban spectrum and guests have included Damon Dash, Marques Houston, Mario Winans, Christina Milian, Ashanti, Ludacris, City High, So Solid, JD, Audley Harrison, Richard Blackwood, Ashley Cole & Rio Ferdinand.
If he is not at the Choice Fm studio or at his own studio he can be found across the UK and Europe at various club nights.
He is just as popular on the international scale and his exceptional DJ sets have taken such places ABROAD as– Tenerife, Ibiza (Twiceasnice/Pure Silk), Ayai Napa (Every promoter) Miami (Winter Conference), Holland, Germany, Malia (Pure Silk) Switzerland, Sweden, NY, Jamaica, Paphos, Athens.
